It's a girl

2021

Pig brains resemble human brains and a pig heart may soon be transplanted into humans. We should treat them like we treat ourselves.

Bringing home the bacon I

2021

Jute bags are also used as pen enrichment for pigs and piglets. Unfortunately for many pigs this is not a reality. With too much in a small cage, no mud to roll in, a bare floor to sleep on and a lifetime of pregnancy. Pig brains resemble human brains and a pig heart may soon be transplanted into humans. I don't eat pigs, I honor them and if I were God I would invite them to heaven.

Dinner with van Gogh

2002

I have lived for four years in the VS and felt sometimes homesick. Being together with my family round the table. In the potatoeaters from van Gogh I saw what I missed. I opened the composition of the original painting and placed also myself and our cat round the table.

'Even pigs go to heaven'

2019

Varkenspest or swine fever, a disease which occurs because the way pigs are breeded. With too many in a small cage, no mud to play in, no hay to sleep in. And being pregnant all life. Because of the swine fever the pigs have to be killed. The brain of pigs looks like human and a pigs heart can be transplanted in men. I don't eat them and I honor them. And if I was God I invited them in heaven.

'One more cup of coffe 'fore I go'

2020

A coffee before I go. My daily ritual. Found an old coffebean bag. This became the carrier of this painting. The branch of the coffeeplant and the beans reminds us where our coffee comes from
